Convention Report

Corporate Comm, Legal No Comments

The end of last week our own Ron Cook and Steve Crandall attended the NCRA annual Convention in Las Vegas. It was a whirlwind of a week with court reporting competitions, seminars, workshops, and some great opportunities to connect with the NCRA community.

At the annual Realtime Competition, Ron participated and placed as a top finisher. The competition consists of two five-minute dictations where contestants submit a transcript prior to leaving the contest room. This transcript is graded for accuracy, contestants with a rate of 95% or higher qualifies. Then the best score among those qualifying in both parts wins the championship.

Steve was involved with the various workshops and seminars. Here is some of the feedback that we received from workshop attendees.

Seminar: Online Communities- Get Connected

“I attended Mary Beth’s social media seminar. Panelists were Breck Record (Encouraging Our Students), Steve Crandall (brilliant), and
our new board member Toni O’Neil. It was an excellent seminar. Since I’m novice in social media networking, I learned so much, mostly that I need to hire an expert to set me up on my business site. They were truly amazing in their knowledge.”

Seminar: Cool Tech Tips

“I attended this seminar by our very own Steve Crandall and Sara L. Wood. Please go to www.ncra.org/techtips. Great seminar. These folks are BRILLIANT!!!!”

The NCRA put on another great conference and we can’t wait for next year!
